Privacy Notice

Information You Submit

A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. Knott County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy terms apply to its handling of the query.

If you send an email or contact message, we retain the information needed to answer it. We do not share a message beyond the organization unless the law requires disclosure.

Technical Data Collected

Like most websites, the service may receive routine technical details when a page loads:

  • Your Internet Protocol address.
  • Browser name and version.
  • Device type and operating system.
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them.
  • The referring site, when supplied.
  • Date and time stamps.

Cookies help measure how visitors use the pages. A browser can block cookies, although some features may then work differently.

How Data Is Used

Collected data supports a limited set of operating needs:

  • Keeping pages available and responsive.
  • Sending a search to the selected outside partner.
  • Learning which records resources are useful.
  • Finding errors and resolving technical faults.
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect interests.

Links and Advertising

Links may lead to KRRJ, the Knott County Sheriff, Kentucky courts, KY DOC, other government portals, news outlets, and outside search tools. Once a visitor leaves, the destination's privacy policy governs. Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across multiple sites; that activity is controlled by those partners, not this site.

Parties Receiving Data

Personal data is not sold. It may be provided only as needed to search partners processing a query, analytics providers, advertising networks, or a law-enforcement or government body acting under a valid legal order.

Security Practices

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used. No internet service is immune from every intrusion, failure, or mistake, so complete security cannot be promised.

People Under Eighteen

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian may use the Contacts page to request deletion if a minor submitted information.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law, you may ask for a copy of personal data held about you, request a correction, seek deletion, or object to certain processing. Send the request through the Contacts page with enough detail to identify the relevant message or data.

Notice Changes

This privacy notice may be revised as tools or practices change. A new version becomes effective when posted with its updated effective date.
